Torgnon Pure Emotion

Culture

Aside from an important ski centre and holiday destination for open-air sports, Torgnon offers tourists a unique journey through past traditions and customs. Every corner of the old villages has its story to tell, but the village of Triatel with its ethnographic museum undoubtedly elicits the most interest.
The Petit Monde Museum, inaugurated in 2004, is distributed inside three characteristic architectural buildings (the grange, the grenier and terraced granary) which have undergone important conservative restoration work. The museum project has been designed and structured to offer the visitor multiple interpretation keys: from the architectural, to the social-anthropological, to the socio-cultural. The museum has been fitted out entirely with objects donated by the population and used by generations on our territory. Of great importance is the exhibition of tools which are described and presented in their daily use. Once the visit has begun you will be transported into an ancient and rural dimension and discover a history of sweat and hard work, intelligence and skill, simplicity and tradition.
